![]() Hell, even the Longsuffering move (which, again, I think is totally awesome) is fundamentally passive in nature. ![]() ) I would really LIKE to be able to do more active or pro-active things. I've picked up the cast-like-a-Cleric move, which covers the vast majority of the interesting ACTIVE things I can do (and.well, I've had bad luck with spell rolls. Bonus to armor, boons, the "take a debility instead of damage" thing, always get a hold even when you 'fail' a Defend roll, etc. If it helps at all, my character's deity is Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, god of Hope, Protection, and Justice, defender of the downtrodden and forgotten, supporter of righteous kings and honest dealings.Īlmost everything my class does is passive. ![]() would be at the very least a good resource to cannibalize. Anything angelic, protective, saintly, etc. I've been trying to find something, or come up with something myself, but haven't had any luck yet. I'd like to know if anybody's seen or heard of Compendium Classes that would fit with a through-and-through Good Guy Paladin, someone with the morals and work ethic of Captain America or Superman, but with divine flair. Finally trundled off to bed around mid-morning.Īnyway. Long after dawn, he stumbled out, ready for some sleep.but stuck around because the Bishop had just started services. Turns out the city's got a bit of a disease problem (rampant among the poor and semi-common even among the rich, but only the rich seem to recover most of the time)-so he spent the rest of the night aiding the monks and nuns tending the sick and healing the wounded. When both of his comrades went separate ways to try to get the symbol back, he decided to leave them to it, and went to pray at the temple (which is dedicated to his god). Frex, during last session, he dropped his holy symbol while trying to save the Thief from vampires, and a street urchin ran off with it. ![]() Not a "judge the wicked!" paladin, more a "work tirelessly to help others and never ask for credit" paladin. It's a perfect thematic fit, and flows directly from how my character has interacted with the other two. Whenever he later directly acts to aid his personal allies (which, at present, are just the other two party members), he can add those points to his roll, for example improving a Lay on Hands roll, a Cast Spell roll to use Cure Light Wounds, or a Defend action to protect one of them. My character has gained "Longsuffering." Each time he endures difficulty, frustration, or hardship on behalf of one of his allies, he gets one 'longsuffering' point, up to a total of three. Our Thief, for example, has been partially infused with the magic of transformation-this allows her to alter her body a bit.and makes her very blood a poison that attacks an enemy from the inside. Something the DM has already done, which is super awesome, is that each of us has gained a unique "personal" move based on the fiction thus far. Still, I'd like to find a Compendium class (or a few) that fit my character, to get some more nicely-fitting things. I understand a good portion of why, not least because things only go to level 10. However.there's one thing that still kinda bugs me about the game. ![]() I had expected it to be too "old school" for my tastes, but a good DM and hilarious co-players have made it completely worthwhile. It's loads of fun-surprisingly fun, in fact. I'm playing a Paladin in a weekly (or sometimes bi-weekly) Dungeon World game. ![]()
